Technical Analysis

Technical Analysis is a means of analyzing past price, volume and other market data, primarily through the use of charts to identify patterns, to forecast future price movements in financial markets such as stocks, commodities, Forex, in fact any tradable financial instrument where price is influenced by supply and demand.

As with forecasting the weather, Technical Analysis is not an exact science, it can't predict the future of market activity. What it does for the investor is give them an indication of what is likely to happen to prices over time, based on historical data.

Technical Analysis can be used with any financial instrument and is concerned with two just things:

1. What is the current price?

2. What is the history of the price movement?

Technical Analysis is a highly versatile tool for the investor because it's principles of market analysis are universally applicable to just about any financial instrument as the steps for analysis use the same theoretical knowledge. The good news about Technical Analysis is that you don't need to be an Economist or an Accountant to carry out the analysis - a chart is a chart which just about anyone from any walk in life can use as the technical principles of support, resistance, trend, trading range and other aspects can be applied to any chart. But Technical Analysis is not that easy, success requires serious study and dedication to master it. These resources will help you do just that:.
